I would like to express my sincerest gratefulness for your sending me two books about my favorite hobby in the world, birds…but in my case, it’s pigeons! Funny how you just happened to send me a book titled “Music of the Birds,” because I arrived at a new state prison…the cell has a built-in shower and recreation pen in the back with a window. Every morning, I open the window and hear the birds singing. For years, I thought it was the female birds who did all the singing, and it turns out, I was wrong. The male birds are the ones who sing all of the time. Every morning, it sounds like a symphony in my cell. Another hobby I have is playing my keyboard. Maybe one day in the near future, I will take out my keyboard in the morning and play some songs for my bird pals! I’m going to work on my repertoire with my new bird friends! I also want to thank you for the “Guide to Pet Birds.”
