Twinkle, twinkle little star,
please don’t send your bombs this far. .
It seems North Korea does rattle
saber and offer up battle
They’ve done it before
but it’s hard to ignore
Sounding this time more than prattle
The flames now ignited and fanned
lines being etched in the sand
threats being uttered
of subs being gutted
our Trident not chewing gum brand
They posture, they pose and they strut
like a squirrel with a much too big nut
Now like Iraq
that nut hard to crack
without first a very deep cut
This time like last it is missiles
with all of the bells, gongs and whistles
diplomacy tried
but taken in stride
ignored were back-channel epistles
The future not looking so bright
much like a Sixties type plight
that crisis of old
was too dark and cold
and we without Camelot’s Knight
