Freed

Wake up call
Another day
Hear cell doors opening down the way

Roll over groaning
Hit my knees and pray
Lord help me through another day

I close my eyes
Thoughts of friends I met along the way
Huck and Tom with slave named Jim
I wonder what became of him

Wonders past
Places I’ve been
Pillars of the earth in a world without end
Ken Follett, yeah, now he’s a friend

Alex Cross
Go get your man
James Patterson
You know I’m a fan

Koontz and King
The shivers they bring
believe you me
they do the horror thing

I open my eyes
I take a deep breath
I look at the book and read
I’m freed
