The Promise: President Obama, Year One

By Jonathan Alter

I found this book to be very fascinating. I liked the fact that the book not only shed light on the man and his remarkable ascent but also the people surrounding him. It was very entertaining…a page-turning ordeal. I learned a great deal about how the political process operates. The system is a complex animal that at times chases its tail. Thanks to the Prison Book Program for such a wonderful book.
