The Goldfinch

By Donna Tartt

I read “The Goldfinch” because it received a Pulitzer Prize in fiction, and I set a goal of reading every book that’s ever received a Pulitzer in fiction. It’s the best book I’ve ever read! It’s about a young boy who unintentionally steals a famous painting and even though he feels he should return it, he doesn’t, and he keeps it all the way up until he reaches his late 20s. The book has a little bit of everything: action, love, murder, history, and philosophy. Once I got into the story and characters I couldn’t put it down.
