The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas I recently read this book while in county jail pending transfer to my federal facility, and it was a welcome respite from the drama of my life and case. The book by Alexandre Dumas was so well written, so encompassing, and contained so many “stories within a story” that it kept me on the edge of my seat and would not suffer me putting it down for any period of time other than sleeping.
The story is about a man wrongfully imprisoned, his suffering, and then meeting a friend/mentor who shares with him the secret location of treasure. With such potential for riches he is compelled to escape, and he does. He then uses his riches to get back at all those who plotted against him. It was great and I recommend it.
