The Beautiful and the Damned

By F. Scott Fitzgerald

This novel is timeless and shows how the excesses of the roaring 1920s can drive a man mad. The main character is entrenched in a drinking problem and a gregarious wife who was always pampered by other men. He is also suing his dead father’s butler who tried to steal his inheritance by coercing his father on his deathbed. The main character is driven mad after going all the way to the New York Supreme Court.
