Thank You – People Are Lining Up For Sudoku

SudokuDear Sir or Madam:
Just a short note to thank you for the books you and your organization have sent, (i.e. Websters Dictionary; Websters thesaurus; and Sudoku puzzle book).  The thesaurus and dictionary have been put to immediate use and there’s a line of individuals lining up to try their hand at Sudoku!  Just thought you’d like to know.  🙂
Thanks again for thinking of those of us who are incarcerated, it truly means a lot!

Bear Drawing

“Thanks to you for being there for us in prison. You are our “Hero” and we love you “Sister Parsons” Love always, a friend for Life.”

A prisoner recently sent us this drawing along with this nice note. “I want to thank you and your crew for the books because without you guys l lot of us in here would be lost or dead by now! Because of the books that you send us give us hope and a new view on life and love. So thanks and may God bless you always, amen!”

Thank You – PBP Gave Me the Courage to Take and Pass My GED

Dear Lucy Parsons Center:

I would like to thank each and every one at the center for giving me the courage to take and pass my GED in 2009.

I have taken up numerous vocational trades: brick block and stone masonry, automotive technology, horticulture, and I am now working on computer coding. I would have never been able to accomplish these goals in my life without the tools (books) that were donated by your organization. Thank you very much.

Thank You – Mother Teresa’s Lessons of Love and Sanctity

Mother Teresa's Lessons of Love and SanctityDear Prison Book Program Staff:

I recently received 2 books from you: (1) “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding, and (2) “Mother Teresa’s Lessons of Love & Secrets of Sanctity” by Susan Conroy.

Thank you very, very much. I absolutely love the book, “Mother’s Teresa’s Lessons of Love & Secrets of Sanctity”. Absolutely! I know I’m going to read it again and again. Of all the women who ever lived throughout the history of mankind, I admire Mother Teresa the most.

How can I thank you enough for this precious treasure you gave me? Of course, I’m so grateful for “Lord of the Flies” too. Thank you again and again. And may God’s most abundant blessings shine upon you all.

Sincerely yours,
(a prisoner from Arizona)

Thank You – Got My GED and a College Degree

graduation_cap_and_diplomaFirst I want to thank you for your program. Two years ago I received GED and education books for college. Well since then I have gotten my GED and in a month will finish with college, where I’m going to receive my degree in business management. All thanks to your program. Also, I did as you asked and passed on the GED book which has helped two fellow inmates get their GED’s. As soon as I’m done with the college program I will pass that book on also.

There are two reasons I wrote. One is to thank you guys for your program and two, in 24 days I will have my degree in Business management, I would like to request some book on starting your own business.

Also to let you know I am to be released from prison in five months, so I would like to ask this be a speedy request. Again thank you guys for all your help and hope you can help me again with my request.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter and look forward to your reply.
