Wanderings: Chaim Potok’s History of the Jews

By Chaim Potok

I’m not sure I can say it’s my favorite book, but it was life-changing for me because it taught me about the history and culture of my people, k’lal Israel, and after living for over 21 years as a Wiccan, despite being a Jew, I finally did t’shuvah (returned to complete Jewish religious observance). As a result, I’ve managed to change my life and my conditions of confinement here in prison! I had been in MCU (24/7 lockdown with zero human contact or interaction) for over 9 years, but after doing t’shuvah I very quickly earned release to general population! This book changed my life here and all for the better.
